Paolo Monti, Dollar Image, 1989

Banknote, plexiglass, chemical, reagents, slide- projector

video: 15" 12'

“A projected image  progressively changes until it completely disappears”

Through the projection of a fragment of a banknote, immersed in a chemical solution,
the dissolution process of the projected image is rendered visible.

The chemical reagents, activated by the heat of the projector, slowly corrode the paper substance
of the banknote and in fact determine its complete disappearance.
