Paolo Monti, TazebAu Light from the Eyes. Braille sensorial banknote, 2005

3-D video with lateral, oblique, epi-coaxial vision, rotating head at variable angle

Music: Earl Howard & Denman Moroney – accelerated extrapolation from Uncaged Bacchanal - 10’ 25"

video: 4’ 21”'

“A diaphragm, with incorporated iris, consents an elevated depth of field
without sacrificing the unity of vision”

The video, shot in sequence with a multi-directional 3D microscope, picks up the morphological analysis of a dollar engraved with Braille characters

The holes produced from the incision allow light to penetrate in correspondence with the eyes of George Washington depicted on the banknote, restoring vision in an unprecedented structural coupling with the environment

From the failure analysis of the holes traversed by the light it is possible to trace the ballistics of the engraving crack, visible through the dynamic trajectories of light beams.
